Can anyone hit more than eighteen ledgers in 2025?
2024 Review
Another season, another close call. A handful of players went into the last month of the season with an opportunity to tie or break Pete Alonso’s record of eighteen ledgers in a season, but all of them came up short. When these near misses happen, a player also mathematically removes himself from competing in the Chase again. For example, Colton Cowser’s seventeen ledgers in 2024 means he could get, at most, 13 ledgers in a future season – short of the record.
Here are the players that had the most ledger home runs in 2024. The numbers indicate the count for the 2024 season/ledgers hit in career. Players marked with an * are still eligible to break the record in 2025.

2025 Preview
Several MLB newcomers will populate the list of high achievers in 2025 as we saw in 2024 with Cowser, Chourio, and Merrill. However, there are still plenty of players who are “eligible” to break the record who played in 2024 or earlier.
Based solely on their on-field performance in 2024, these are the fifty players “most likely” to break Pete Alonso’s record in 2025. Each player lists the number of available opponents, and their plate appearance and home run count from 2024. Please note that the likelihood score for each is functionally 0.0000% so players are listed in alphabetical order.
