v30 Club Member Adds

Freddie Freeman hit his thirtieth ledger against the Royals on June 16. He was the third inductee of the year and the 79th overall.

Highest Likelihood Scores for Possible Inductees

As players continue to miss against their needed opponents, it’s now easier to list all the players who are one team from induction.

Juan Soto (76.2), Corey Seager (66.7), Jeimer Candelario (40.1), Gary Sánchez (40.0), Paul Goldschmidt (33.2), Lourdes Gurriel Jr (32.9), Josh Bell (25.1), Nolan Arenado (22.6), Adam Duvall (20.0), Yasmani Grandal (11.4)

Shohei Ohtani (52.2), Bryce Harper (27.2), and Matt Chapman (24.6) have statically (but not all medically) good chances of joining while needing two more teams.

Manuel Marogt continues to be a very long shot (0.0) to get inducted while still needing nine teams.

Notable v30 Club Misses

Once a player exhausts potential match-ups against a team they need to join the club, they enter a “Misses” category. Here are the players who had the highest ledger count coming in to 2024 but have failed to hit a home run against a needed team in June.

Michael Conforto against the Astros, Jason Heyward against the White Sox, Carlos Correa against the Pirates, Marcus Semien against the Brewers.

Other players missed out on maxing out their score in 2024 including Enrique Hernández against the Rangers, Brent Rooker against the Twins, and Fernando Tatis Jr against the Angels.

Maxed Out Players

No players maxed out in June. Players who are still eligible include Jose Altuve, Aaron Judge, Pete Alonso, Rafael Devers, Teoscar Hernandez, Matt Carpenter, and Salvador Perez.

Pete Alonso Number (a.k.a. Polar Bear Chase)

There was some flip-flopping among leaders of the Chase in June. Leading the hunt with nine ledgers apiece are Colton Cowser and Jackson Chourio.

Heliot Ramos has positioned himself as the most likely beat Alonso’s record per likelihood score. He has seven ledgers and a score of 0.15 (which incidentally is higher odds that the aforementioned Manuel Margot).

Players with eight ledgers: Alec Burleson, Nick Gordon, Zach Neto, Jordan Westburg, Jackson Merrill, and Andy Pages. David Fry, Joey Ortiz, Heliot Ramos, Nolan Schanuel, and Davis Schneider are tied with seven.

Logan O’Hoppe and Michael Toglia both have seven as well, but have been eliminated from the hunt as they can top out at 13 and 17 home runs on the season respectively.
