The Kid’s home run journey gets underway

Welcome to the second edition of Ledger Adds Vintage! In this series we examine the ledgers of years gone by in the same way we view today's ledgers.

This time around we celebrate the 35th anniversary of the 1989 season. It was the first season of home runs for Ken Griffey Jr., Sammy Sosa, Edgar Martinez, Albert Belle, and Juan Gonzalez and thick-of-it years for Club members Dave Parker, Eddie Murray, Rafael Palmeiro, and Gary Sheffield.

A reminder about the ordinal notations. The first number is the ledger number for the season and the second is the ledger number of the player's career.
